QR Stash — QR Code Scanner • Last updated: March 11, 2026

The short version: QR Stash does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything stays on your device.

What data does QR Stash access?

URL safety checks

QR Stash checks scanned URLs for suspicious patterns (known phishing domains, IP-based URLs, unusual TLDs). This check runs entirely on your device using local pattern matching. No URLs are sent to any server.

Advertising

The free version of QR Stash displays banner ads provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data for ad personalisation in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

You can manage your ad preferences via your device's settings or by purchasing the ad-free upgrade within the app. When you first open QR Stash, you will be asked for your consent regarding personalised ads (where required by law).

In-app purchases

QR Stash offers a one-time purchase to remove ads. This transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store any payment information.

Permissions summary

QR Stash does not request access to your contacts, location, phone state, microphone, or storage beyond scoped access for saving generated QR codes.

Children's privacy

QR Stash is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Data retention

Scan history is stored locally on your device. You can delete individual entries, clear all history, or configure automatic deletion (30, 60, 90, or 365 days) in Settings. Uninstalling the app removes all data.

Changes to this policy

If we update this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
